Hello Manxviewers,

Well it's that time of year again, time to look back and reflect on the 2011 and start making plans for 2012. Although here at Manxviews the site hasn't stood still, it still feels like i haven't been out with my camera enough this year, so once again hopefully i will remedy that next year.

We have had to remove the guestbook from the site as it was getting impossible to keep on top of the spam entries, so if there is anything on the site you like or feel we aren't doing your favourite part of our beautiful island justice then please leave a comment on a photo and we will try to sort it out.

Lastly i would like to wish all our Manxviewers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2012.

Thank you

Manxviews Mark

Hello all,

As you Manxviews regulars will already know we had some issues with the site over the last couple of months. Richard has worked miracles sorting everything out and we also have the image count back, and i think you'll agree the site has never looked better.

Over the past month there have been images from a trip to Peel castle with my boys and a couple of weeks ago Dave and myself set out to find the Block Eary reservoir behind Snaefell, a hard climb to the reservoir but well worth it.

Today was such a beautiful day we set off to explore Snaefell mines, again it was a bit of a trek but what a great place, from one extreme to another, steeped in Manx history but right up to date with off road bikes enjoying the hillside. The pictures should be hitting the site soon so keep watching.

Cheers Manxviews Mark.

Hello All,

The clocks have gone forward, the nights are lighter and spring is on it's way (or so we are told, difficult to believe with all the snow!!).

With Richard off the Island this weekend Dave and myself checked the forcasts and decided to head out early on Sunday morning, weren't we lucky? What an absolutely gorgeous day, a touch windy at first but with a warm coat, a flask of coffee and some of the best views on the Island i can't think of a better way to start a Sunday.

We set off at about 8.30am and headed for Glen Maye, deciding against walking right down the Glen we thought instead we would get some shots of the waterfall, swollen by all that springtime snow. We then faced the choice of North or South. We headed South to one of my favourite views Niarbyl, then further down to Eary Cushlin. From there we carried on South and stopped at Fleswick bay and finally Bradda glen near the old cafe, one day i will drag Dave up to Milners tower.

Dave has had his film's developed and is scanning them as i write this so the pics won't be far off, hopefully hitting the site by this weekend.

Other trips planned this summer, we are hoping to get on the Calf of Man, Dave's son Curtis and Richard have bought a bigger boat so there should be some different views coming from off the Manx coast, and there is a trip on the MER to the top of Snaefell planned. so keep your eyes peeled.

Thanks and see yer later Manxviews Mark.

Hello Manxviewers,

It's a bit late but Happy new year from all at Manxviews. It's been a very cold start to 2010, which is why the website hasn't changed much.

Last Sunday though we all got up stupidly early for a weekend and ventured down the south of the island, after a brief stop on Gansey we made our way to the Chasms, then continued down to the Sound and had a good old explore. On the way back we spotted one of the first steam trains of the season so pulled over at Castletown station to wait, with some very nice results, even if it was facing the wrong way.

The pictures should be hitting the site soon and we are planning further trips out in the near future, so the site should be changing regularly. Richard is also trying to get some HD video of some of the Islands beautiful spots, something to look out for.

Bye for now Manxviews Mark.

Hello all,

As you can probably tell autumn is upon us (it's gettin' cold), christmas is just round the corner, but from a photographers point of view we are talking misty mornings, sun rises and golden trees, so it's not all bad, keep watching the site.

Manxviews has been promoting our gorgous Isle for over 5 years now. Richard and Dave have been snapping away all over the place since 2004, myself joining in 2006.

We are still striving to bring you all the beautiful little nooks and crannys hidden in the jewel in the Irish sea. If there is somewhere we do not know about or haven't covered yet then please let us know, so we can put that right.

Many thanks Manxviews Mark.

Hello Manxviewers, as i said in the last update manxviews equipment has received something of an shake up just lately.

Richard has upgraded from his Canon 350D to a 450D as well as standing by his Nikon D70.

Dave has grown quite attached to Meopta Flexaret TLR cameras, you'll be able to spot these photos on the site as they are the big square ones, most of these cameras are over 50 years old but i think you'll agree still give fantastic results.

I have purchased an Olympus E420 DSLR with a couple of lenses. Dave no longer speaks to me thinking i have abandoned film, he says he prefers grain to "noise" but i always carry my trusty Praktica BMS.

Anyway just waiting for a couple of hours when it's not raining and we can escape from the wives.

Keep watching the site, Manxviews Mark.
