A wintery shot of the Queens pier. Built in 1886 at a cost of £45,000, it was visited by 2 different monarchs, king Edward VII and Queen Alexandra in 1902 and king George V and Queen Mary in 1920, the last steamer docked at the pier in 1970 and the pier was finally closed to the public in 1991 while the Isle of Man government decided what to do with it!!! Well we are still waiting and a piece of Manx heritage is quickly falling into the sea (or is this what the government want? then they don't have to make a discision).
Camera Praktica super TL with a carl ziess jena DDR tessar 2.8/50mm lens.
Taken on the 22nd November 2007.
